"Cockroaches." "Parasites." That is what a high-ranking judicial authority called grassroots RTI activists and concerned citizens who dare to highlight discrepancies in public administration. We decided to wear the name with pride.
Our Origin: Born From an Insult
In mid-2026, during a high-profile Supreme Court hearing regarding transparency in public projects, the Chief Justice famously remarked that citizens filing Right to Information (RTI) applications to critique appointments and audits were acting like "cockroaches and parasites" on the judicial and administrative machinery.
Rather than backing down, the youth of this country responded. If demanding accountability, asking for transparency, and refusing to bend the knee to institutional opacity makes us cockroaches, then Main Bhi Cockroach (I too am a cockroach).
Within days, this single line of digital defiance exploded into a decentralized watchdog movement. Over 40,000 ordinary citizens registered themselves under the banner of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP). We realized that while you can easily crush a single insect, you can never exterminate a swarm.
"The cockroach is the ultimate survivor. It has survived ice ages, nuclear tests, and mass extinctions. It thrives in the dark corners where others fear to look. Similarly, democratic watchfulness will survive censorship, legal threats, and institutional indifference." — The Swarm Collective
What We Do
Main Bhi Cockroach is a digitally-native, citizen-led investigative outlet and advocacy group. We specialize in shine-a-light activism:
- Crowdsourced Watchdogs: We teach young citizens how to file strategic, impactful Right to Information (RTI) applications to track tax expenditures, local council budgets, and public contracts.
- The Post-Retirement Ledger: We maintain an open, public database auditing judicial postings. If a judge rules on sensitive government policies and is rewarded with a lucrative post-retirement commission, the swarm records it.
- Plain-Speech Translations: Institutional power hides corruption behind Latin phrases and 1,000-page jargon. We translate legal scripts and state policies into sharp, clear, visual summaries for the public.
- Satirical Shields: We believe that satire is one of the most powerful shields of democratic dissent. We laugh at the Leviathan, not because political corruption is a joke, but because power cannot stand being mocked.
Our Principles
We have no corporate sponsors. We have no political masters. We do not accept institutional grants that come with editorial compromises. We are funded entirely by the spare change of students, young professionals, and ordinary working citizens who believe that a watchdog should have real teeth.
We crawl in the dark so that the public can see in the light.
